Father's Day Weekend

Even though I'm a week behind in posts, this past father's day weekend was perfect! Perfect to me anyway.
We started Saturday with a family trip to Wash Park.  Shocking I know, but what are we supposed to do. I think I am definitely a creature of habit.

I'm not sure that Chance likes biking to the park yet, but he sure looks cute in his little skull and cross bones helmet.  I just laugh every time I look at him in that thing.

Chance absolutely loves playing in the park.  He is totally fearless and cirlcles around and around the playground to dash down the tunnel slide head first.

We met up with our friends, played some volleyball and giggled until day turned into night.
We ended the day in our backyard for cocktails and dinner.

The following morning was "Father's Day" so Chance and I were up bright and early to make Max his favorite breakfast in bed...sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits with a side of chocolate milk.  We all snuggled and watched cartoons in bed for a few hours before we decided to really start our day.

I took Chance to the Juneteenth festival for about an hour because I had to set up a booth for Family Tree and make sure that all of the supplies were there for the volunteers.  Chance is all about volunteering, if by volunteering you mean sit nicely, look cool, and eat candy.

I rushed back from the Juneteenth festival so that we could check out the farmer's market in our neighborhood.

We strolled the streets, bought some organic produce, and treated ourselves to fresth lemonade and then tacos at the pinche food truck.

After a quick cat nap on the couch, we were out the door again and this time we decided to head south to check out Pirates Cove (a family themed water park just a few miles from our house).

We all had the best afernoon playing in the sun here! It is not huge like Six Flags or Water World but still has all of the fun things that we wanted to do with Chance.

We lounged by the lazy river, looked up at the slides, and splashed in the fountains.

Chance could not get enough of the fountains!

Chance loved splashing in the water.

Max and Chance waving to me from the top of the pirate ship and then our only family photo of all of us soaking in the sun.

We all agreed to add "water park" to the list of things that we regularly do as a family.

We all had so much fun!

We closed out father's day with dinner on our back patio.  I made Chance his mom's poor boys, corn on the cob, and a red velvet cake. I hope it was enough to let Max know how very thankful I am that he is Chance's father and the man of my dreams.
