Grand Tetons

We took the entire week off after Jerad's wedding so that we could explore Wyoming with our loved ones.
We had brunch with a group of our college friends on the morning after the wedding and then headed to Grand Teton National Park to hike.

We decided to hike Jenny Lake which is a very popular hike in the park.
We took a boat over to the trail head and then worked our way across the park from there.

Boat ride on Jenny Lake with the kids and our friends.

The view from the boat.

We started the hike at the trail head and they said it was a mile up to inspiration point.
Chance did amazing and walked the entire way up on his own.

The falls are a stopping point half way up.

It was a lot of fun to be with the Springers and Fountaine on this hike.
We got lots of comments from people that were passing by about all of the kids that we had in tow with us as well as a few inquiries about Kansas because of Fountaine's sweatshirt.

The view from the top...pictures don't quite capture how truly beautiful this place was.

We took the long hike back in hopes of seeing some wildlife.  We had to switch who carried the children for awhile, but it was worth it because we got to see a moose and some crazy birds that I already forgot the names of.
No bears...thank God!

Until next time Teton National Park.  You truly are remarkable.

Gubbels Wedding

This past weekend we loaded up the car and headed to Jackson Hole Wyoming so that we could attend Jerad's wedding.

Max and I were up and had the car packed and rolling by 6am on Friday.  The kids are rock stars at traveling in the car!

We made it to Jackson Hole by about 3pm in the afternoon and had perfect timing to meet with the Springer's for lunch at a little brewery in town.

After lunch we drove to Victor Idaho to check into our little cabin.
This was the view from the front porch.

We just loved everything about the cabin and thought it was perfect for our stay.

The highlight for Chance was the teepee in the front yard.

On Saturday we spent most of the day with Jerad at the wedding.  It was held at his home and was amazing!

Jerad made the wedding alter and brewed all of his own beer for the event.  His new wife Kelly was equally involved making all of the decorations and shawls for herself and all of her bridesmaids.

It was a picture perfect wedding with the mountains surrounding us on all sides.

Chance and Savannah loved playing outside and got really into the sand and the bean bags.

Chance attempted to play horse shoes

and Savannah loved crawling all over the bean bag boards.

It was absolutely an amazing day complete with barbecue, a blue grass band, and plenty of friends and laughs.  Congrats to Jerad and Kelly and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

Catching Up

We had a few great quiet weekends in between our Lansing trip and our trip to Jackson Hole.

I love having extra time in the mornings to take the kids for a walk and occasionally stopping for coffee.

The farmer's markets are back on the weekends and it is bigger than ever.  There is quite the crowd and the food tasting just keeps getting better and better.

The boys all went out of town one weekend so the village girls had a great chance to catch up with one another.

Chance, Savannah, and I were all accomplices to help Katie get the porch swing she has been asking Kevin to put up for her for the past two years.

We were so pleased that we were able to figure it out and get in installed on our own :)

We missed Max, but enjoyed the quiet weekend at home.

The only thing we accomplished most days was walking around the park and making dinner.

Sometimes those are the best days.

Savannah is really figuring out her walk and is definitely always on the move!

Nick closed on his house and it was amazing to have him as my first ever client in real estate.

We threw a little party for him to make him feel at home.

Can't wait for the upcoming weddings and trips! It looks to be an exciting rest of the month.
