Frist Snow Fall

It snowed this morning in Denver!!! Can you believe it?  Lucky for us we are a glass half full family.  Did you actually think that we would cry in bed and whine about the cold miserable weather....definitely not! We all saw this as an opportunity to try out Chance's new snow suit.  It's blue and puffy.  What do you think? We need to have Chance in stylish attire for ski season.

Max decided to take Chance out with him to brush all of the snow off of our cars.  Aren't my men great?

This was my view from the window.  Brr...

Max teaching Chance to be chivalrous. "Always clean off mom's car first and then start on your own"...just go with me here.  I'm sure that is what Max is saying to Chance :)

The view of the snow combined with the changing colors of the leaves was a really rare and beautiful sight.

I'm so glad that we didn't have to rush into work this morning and we got to spend some time playing in the snow with our little guy.
Let ski season begin!

PS...Chance turned 10 months old today.

The Pumpkin Patch

After the BIG game on Saturday, we decided to take a family trip to Mile High Farms with Chance.  Everybody loves a pumpkin, right?
I'm not going to lie, Max was not stoked about the family trip that I was "making" him go on.  I think his direct quote was, "Why do I have to go? Chance isn't even going to remember this..." My response, "I'll remember, and I take pictures!" So here they are :)

Walking Chance through the haunted town.....so scary! This place actually turns into a haunted house with haunted hay rides at night.  I am definitely going back when Chance is old enough to experience that!

So far....Max is right....Chance is not impressed :(

BUT then, he discovered this stuff called hay.  He would not even look up for a photo he was so intrigued by how sticky it was.

Then, it was all smiles when we entered the corn maze.  No, we were not those people that you heard about on the news that had to call 911 to help them out of the maze, but that would have made a fantastic blog post if it were :)

Chance was also completely interested in the corn...and NO I do not think that his destiny is to be a cornhusker! Can you not see all of that purple :)

Fun with Dad!

Max laughing at me about how crazy not scary this corn maze is.  The good news is that Max was completely loving his "forced" family day at this point.

So was Chance!

Ummmm, Scarecrows? Should I be scared of that dad?

Oh, Okay?  Just checking.

Now pigs, those things are cool.  Chance would have stood there all day!

He also tried to talk and dance for the sheep.  So weird and funny!

The horse...not so much.

Why are they setting me in this sticky stuff again?

Seriously?

That's better! All I want to do is play with dad!
Happy Halloween everyone!

The Sunflower Showdown

College football is in full swing.  This past Saturday was the Sunflower Showdown which means that K-State was playing Kansas.  Thankfully the game was televised again because I really don't love the idea of taking Chance to a bar at 10am.  At 10pm...I'm fine with it...just kidding mom.
Anyways, Bret and Lauren were gracious enough to invite the gang to their loft downtown so that we could all be together and cheer on the cats.  I had to take a quick pic of Max and Chance sporting their purple.

Everyone pitched in for food and we had a great spread for breakfast.  When we arrived there was a giant pot of coffee which hit the spot for a morning game.

Lauren is a wonderful cook and had made an egg casserole and pumpkin muffins.  Gubbels brought biscuits and homemade gravy.  I knew I wouldn't have any time before the game to cook so I just  purchased a quiche from the bakery in our neighborhood to add to the spread.

Gubbels needs to teach Max how to make gravy.  I think gravy tastes even more amazing when you are on a strict diet plan.  Why is everything forbidden so delightful?

Lauren's best friend Allie was in town.  It was great to get to know her a little better and we all had fun chatting over mimosas

Chance was our halftime entertainment when he discovered how to open and close the screen door to the balcony.

Chance is now crawling faster than I can walk.  He can stand straight up without holding on to anything now too.  I need to really enjoy these final days before he becomes a man on the move.

Thanks to Bret and Lauren for letting us all come enjoy your loft.  The cats took down Kansas and are now 7-0!  It is so fun to be a ranked team again!

Hiking Evergreen

Today we started out bright and early.  We headed to Evergreen which is about thirty minutes west of Denver to hit up some hiking trails. We had made plans the night before to meet at the Three Sisters trail head so that the boys could mountain bike and the girls could hike.  Chance has been so great about hiking lately.  He absolutely loves to be in the pack.  Max also found him this little bear suit to keep him warm during our hikes. I think Chance is the cutest little bear ever!

Started off on the trail.

After walking up hill for over thirty minutes, Lauren offered to take the pack for a while.  We had a blast hiking and talking.

We met up with Max and Bret at the top of Brother's Lookout.  The view was amazing!

Chance and Max at the top of the hike.

Family photo at the top of the hike.

Chance crawling all over Max as we wait for our table at Red Rocks Grill.

Game at the Yorks

Tonight we went to the York's home to watch our beloved CATS take on Texas Tech.  Most of the games have all been blocked out of the Colorado region and can only be seen on pay per view.  I was so happy that tonight's game was on TV because I love watching football with friends and cooking food.
We arrived a little late because we were having too much fun with my parents at the airport.
The gang was already in full swing when we pulled up so we had to jump right into playing cornhole in the front yard.  I love fall weekends.
The game was too close for comfort at the beginning.  So I distracted myself by crawling around with Chance.  He is getting so fast.
The girls took over the kitchen to set out all of our food.  We had homemade chili and brats.  Just the right amount of comfort food.  I love this picture of the boys watching the babies.
Lauren, me, Chance, and Katie.

Chance loves Miles (Danny and Laura Eakin's son)!  Miles is three months younger than Chance and I am so excited for them to be able to grow up together.  Right now all Chance does is scream in excitement at the sight of Miles, crawls to him,  and then he tries to eat his head.  I guess I need to work with him a little on how to make and keep friends.

Thankfully the cats were able to pull out another win! I can't believe we are 6-0.  K.....S.......U......WILDCATS!!!!!

Grandma and Grandpa stopping in

The fam was on their way to Vegas, so they planned to have a long layover at DIA .  My mom was not about to fly over without making time to see her grandson.
Max and I loved that my parents were in town (even if it was for just a short time).  It was great that they got to see Chance and that we got to have a nice lunch with them.

No visit from the grandparents is complete unless they bring along a few presents.  Max and my mom had a lot of fun playing with Chance's first remote control car.

Okay...Chance loved the car too!

Chance and Grandma Barb.

Thanks dad for rocking Chance to sleep.

My mother

My father

Still playing with the car.

Thanks to my parents for thinking of us and taking time out of their Vegas vacation to see us.  We love you!
