Friends Thanksgiving

Last Saturday we had our 4th Annual Denver Friends Thanksgiving.  This year was hosted by Bret and Lauren because they got a new townhouse in the Highlands and we needed to break it in with a proper gathering.
I look forward to this day every year and I love that everyone pitches in and splits up the chore of preparing a Thanksgiving feast.

We started the day in the early afternoon for cocktails and a bean bag tournament.

Chance loved all of the attention!

Katie, Lauren, and I had some quality girl talk in the kitchen as we put the finishing touches on our prepared dishes.

Chance helped Nick and Tom prepare the salads and he got his first taste of "fancy" cheese.

Which he loved!

Everyone was in the kitchen at some point.

We had to watch the K-State pregrame before we could enjoy the fruits of our labor.

The meal was fabulous! Everyone did an amazing job on food!

Chance and Callie loved when everyone sat down to eat because it freed up the couch for jumping.

Sadly, the good times did not last thru the night....

Our beloved K-State kittes lost to the Baylor Bears losing our #1 ranking and our dreams of playing for the national title (insert trail of small tears)......

At least we have Chance and Callie to love on and cheer us up!

Thank goodness for cuddly babies and good friends.

Looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with our families in Lansing next week.  Bring on the holidays!

Bubbles

Blowing bubbles is definitely on my little man's list of favorite things to do.
I've spent countless hours watching, teaching, and laughing with Chance as he explores the world of blowing bubbles.
Because I enjoy watching Chance with bubbles so much...I thought I would share a few images with you so that I can remember these times forever.
I hope you like bubble time as much as Chance and I do!

Platt Park

We've been spending a lot of time at the park lately.  Chance is just now getting to the age that he really wants and needs a lot of space to run and play outside.

It's kind of become a weekend ritual to take Chance to our neighborhood park for a few hours right after breakfast.

Can you tell his new favorite is the merry go round?

Max and I love chasing Chance up the slide and around the playground.

Hopefully winter will hold off just a while longer so that we can keep our weekends in the park.

Weston's 1st Birthday

Chance and I attended our first kid birthday party over the weekend.
Weston is a little boy that goes to the same day care as Chance and I work with his mother Amy at Family Tree.

Amy made an amazing spread of food and everything was Halloween themed.

Chance loves being around Weston...and all of the new toys!

There is something so special about wathcing a baby eat cake for the first time.  I love it!

Chance had a blast playing with all of the other litte kids.

Happy 1st Birthday Weston!

Pumpkin Patch

I apologize for being weeks behind on our pictures.
If you don't mind, I'd like to take you a few weeks back to the good ol' pumpkin patch.

As soon as we had a cool Saturday in October, we decided it was time to hit up Mile High Farms to pick out our pumpkins.  We had a few friends that wanted to come along as well.

Katie, Lauren, and Nick all joined our family for an afternoon at the patch.

We all talked and watched Chacne run in and out of the little haunted houses.

We posed for silly pictures in the haunted town.

Chance was the only one that was really into the petting zoo :)

Chance was the only one small enough to go into the jumpy castle.

I started to think that he might never come out, he liked it so much!

You know we had to spend some time at the bubble station.

We also had to check out the corn maze, but not before really checking out the map!

We had a blast and found plenty of laughs and entertainment while in the maze.

Our final stop was the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

We all walked the fields in search of the perfect pumpkin.

In the end, Chance picked out the tiny pumpkin in the bottom photo.  He even took a nap with it later that day.  It was a very successful trip to the patch.  We're already looking forward to going again next year!
