Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch with my family while we were in Kansas.
It was so great! It was like a carnival/playground and perfect for Chance at this age.

I made my family take some obligatory pumpkin pose photos!

Chance jumped on the pillow blob....but only while holding dad's hand of course.

We all had a blast with the duck races.  I think it took Chance a minute to catch on,
but once he figured it out...

he wanted to stash all of his winning ducks on a nearby bench.

My parents loved holding their grandbabies and watching all of us run around the farm.

Chance and Addison in their preferred mode of transportation.

You should have seen the home made slides at this place?
I think that there were twenty different slides to chose from.
Addison and Chance LOVED it!

My dad never let go of Avery.  They are buddies for sure!

Me and Mom

It was great to have the day to watch the cousins play together.

and they definitely played...did I mention that this place had slides galor?
Chance was in pumpkin patch heaven!

So were my parents....so long as you don't offer to take a baby.

My mom did however, take a break from Savannah holding to race me down the slide.
(I want to frame this photo)

After slide after slide and races and more....it was time to search for the perfect pumpkin!

I think we all found one and had a successful day at the patch.

It was definitely one of the days that I will look back on and smile about.
Fall is my favorite season for a reason.
Today was perfect!

Kansas City Visit with Family

We traveled home to Kansas a few weeks ago for some much needed time with friends and family.  We were in town for a wedding, but wanted to make the most of our time by seeing as many of our loved ones as possible.

We drove through the day on Friday and both of the kids traveled wonderfully.  Max and I work pretty well together as a team.  It takes one of us to drive and one of us to entertain full time, but it works!

We got into KC on Friday evening, set up the two pack n plays in our room, familiarized Chance with his new surroundings ( a must) and then headed out to my sister's house for some family time.

My parents made the drive into KC as well so that they could spend time with all four of their grandchildren at the same time.

My mom, Savannah, and Avery

Because we had only a few free nights in town.  We invited some of our friends over for pizza and drinks.  I think my mom was a little surprised at how quickly her lap filled with babies.
(My niece Avery,  my mom, Savannah, and Grayson - Zach and Sara Kittle's youngest).

My beautiful sister and niece.

Patrick and Savannah

It was so fun to spend time with family and relax with our friends.
I know that Max loved having Zach and his family over.

Grayson loved the rocking horse.

Chance and Liam played great together!

Katie and Richard Green also made the trip over to my sister's house to spend some time with us.
It is always so fun to catch up with old friends.

We had a blast running around the house with all of the kids!

In all  honestly, I think my dad had more fun than any of the kids....

I mean...who doesn't love being allowed to stay up way past your bed time to eat pizza and watch Monster's Inc.?
I think Chance would like to go to KC every night!

All I can say is there is no place like home.
We all had an amazing night! It was a great start to a great trip.

Hanging at Home

This past weekend was very low key. We didn't venture too far from home. Most of our weekends lately have just been spent working on things at home, playing with the kids, and taking some trips to the park. I know it's not much for blogging material so I will just post photos.

On Friday night, Max and I did manage to sneak away for dinner.  We tried out this great new fish and chips place near our neighborhood.  Max loved it and they have soccer on 24/7.  We didn't have the kids with us, but it is a completely kid friendly place.  We'll definitely be back with Chance and Savannah for some deep fried fish and to watch some soccer games soon.

Saturday our friend, Matt Lewis, was in town for work.  We hung out, watched football, and played with the kids in the park.  We can't wait for Lewis to return with his family in a few weeks for vacation.  It was great to catch up.

I can't get enough of watching Chance and Max play together at the park.

Savannah is really starting to show her own little personality.  She is such a sweet little diva!

I just had to take a few pictures with her to imitate the face she always makes in photos....

we might have the same eyes
or
my Savannah impression is spot on :)

Saturday night we stayed in and I made our first batch of chicken tortilla soup for the changing seasons.  We watched movies and relaxed all evening.  It was great!

Sunday was busy.  Max was up and working on the garage right away.  We took a family trip to Lowe's which is always completely entertaining (insert sarcasm here).....

Can't you just tell how completely patient our little loves are?  I get it Chance.  I was bored too :)

We did our best to entertain ourselves and Savannah while Max picked out the perfect pieces for the "GARAGE MA HAL"

Unfortunately, Savannah and Max do not like my garage jokes.

Max caught Chance his first caterpillar and Chance was completely AMAZED!

We set him free after a while though because Max and I were worried that his container was not quite the life a caterpillar should have.   Luckily, Chance agreed.

We spent all of Sunday afternoon cheering the Chiefs and the Broncos to victories.  Both of our teams 6-0! YAY!

Nothing better than Sunday football and cuddles on the couch.

Sunday evening was all play.  We jumped and bounced all over the house with the kids.

We called it a successful weekend after a game of tag with Buzz Light Year.

We are so excited to start our vacation this weekend and to catch up with family and friends.
Hope to see you all soon!

Fall Weekends at Home

We have been having an amazing time playing with the kids over the past few weeks.  I think the combination of having time to relax at home, a space to play in, and finally feeling like we can sleep have been great for all of us!

Chance definitely loves his new toy room.  His favorite feature thus far is the chalkboard wall.
I'm seriously about to paint every wall in our house with chalk board paint it keeps him so entertained. :)

Savannah is quickly moving out of the baby stage.  She loves to stand and she is really starting to show her own little personality.

Chance is crazy about singing lately. He walks around all day singing and humming.  He loves drumming along with Elmo.

Savannah loves to play peek a boo with her Hello Kitty,

and she got her first tooth....which would explain why everything is going straight to her mouth lately.

A boy and his slinky.

Max, Chance, and I decided to play dress up the baby with bubbles this past Saturday night.  I have seriously never laughed so hard in my life.
I know these are going to be some of our favorite memories of all time!

Poor Savannah....

Chance is also completely into building blocks right now.  We spend hours making towers and then jumping into them to knock them over.

Savannah loves watching her brother play and she giggles every time he jumps.

I love this picture sequence of Chance building his tower and then reacting as it topples over.

You know no weekend at home is complete for us without a trip to visit the ducks and play at the park.

The swings and the slides are good for the soul :)

Not to mention it makes little boys tired enough to...

Snuggle on the couch long to eat popcorn and watch, "Wreck it Ralph"

Time is passing quickly. Our babies are healthy and fun. Life is good!
