Children's Museum and Aquarium

We always have such an amazing time when Zach and Sara Kittle visit.  Our kids are all so close in age and they play so well together.  They were in town so we only had one day and we decided to make it all about Chance, Liam, Grayson, and Savannah.

Coloring at breakfast followed by a trip to the Children's Museum.

Mad Scientists

Playing dentists

With Savannah at the receptionist

You know Chance can't go to the museum without stopping in the kinetics room.

Savannah was absolutely terrified of the bubble that surrounds you...

Chance and Liam were determined to make it work.

Savannah was much happier with the small bubbles :)

After the museum we walked over to the Aquarium for the indoor play house and some lunch.

The boys loved hugging and posing for photos.

We all loved playing on the indoor playground.

So much fun in so little time.  Come back soon Kittle Family!

Summmer Highlights

We've been loving every minute of the summer with these two crazy kids.  Here are some highlights of some of the things that we have been doing.

Petting zoo at White Fence Farm

Visit from Grandma Carol and Uncle Mike.

Savannah somehow started this thing on the bath tub.  At first I tried to get her down because I was afraid that she would fall.  But then I realized it was more dangerous for me to try and grab her than it was for her to do her thing.  Thus...bath tub yoga...started to become a bath time ritual for Chance and Savannah.

I can't get enough of all of the laughter that comes from these two at bath time.

They've started trying to dress themselves.

Try being the key word.

We learned that Savannah can really advocate for herself...to put it nicely...so she was given the nickname "SAVANIMAL"

I took this picture right after Chance said:
"Hey momma! I'll wink at you every time Savannah goes crazy for no reason."
Me:  "That means that we will be winking at each other all of the time..."
Chance:  "I know it will be our joke! Deal or no deal?"

Our favorite weekend past time is definitely still hiking.
Chance is the leader and Savannah still rides in the pack...for now.

The kids love the little picnic snacks that we pack for them.  They think it's fun to lay out the blanket and drink their water after a hike.

Max usually mountain bikes while we hike and then we all meet up after for brunch together.

And of course we still love our neighborhood events.  The farmer's market every Sunday and the Blues and Brews festival 3 Saturdays in the summer.

Not a highlight, but a first.  Savannah had her first trip the ER! 104 degree temp was the only indication that something was wrong.  Eight hours later ....our little fighter was diagnosed with a UTI and we were sent home and told that everything would be fine.

Chance is always on the lookout for his little sister and a great pair of sunglasses.

Lastly, you know it's not summer without lots of walks around Wash Park to feed the ducks and play on the swings.

Max's Birthday

Chance has made a requirement that everyone in this family gets a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION! He wakes up hours earlier than normal and wants me to help him "decorate" the dining room.

Chance and I got up at 5am to put streamers in the dining room and balloons on the bedroom door for Max's 35th!

I love how much the kids love birthdays and how much attention Max got from them!

We spent the entire morning with Chance and Savannah and then snuck away for date day and opening day for baseball!

Happy Birthday Max! Thanks for being the best an then some!

Crested Butte - Easter

We spent Easter weekend in Crested Butte this year.  We got an awesome deal at a ski in ski out hotel and decided that a destination holiday weekend was just the ticket to some time together that we were looking for.

I took this picture of Chance about five minutes after we checked in.  I guess the little guy was more in need of some R&R than I thought.

The best part of our stay was how close we were to the kid's ski area.  We could walk out for 30 minutes and just play until Savannah got tired of skiing and then go back inside to get warm.  It was awesome!

Savannah on her first real pair of skis!

Both Chance and Savannah light up when they ski with Max.  It is so fun to watch.

We hit up a free concert on the rooftop at the base of the mountain and ended up running into a friend of Max's from high school.

Zach Smith played soccer with Max at Lansing and was in Crested Butte solo for the weekend.  We ended up spending a lot of time together and decided to head into the town of Crested Butte for dinner.

We packed the kids Easter baskets and presents that were mailed from grandparents so that we could keep the Easter morning tradition.

We talked about why we celebrate Easter and enjoyed our time as a family in the morning.

We went to the towns Easter Egg hunt later that morning.

Chance and Savannah had a blast!

We spent Sunday afternoon skiing on the bunny slopes and enjoying the sun.

It was a wonderful quick weekend get away that we will never forget!
