I've been putting off writing this post becuase I'm not sure what to say about it.
I woke up in a funk on the 4th. I hate it when I do that. I was already mad about things that hadn't happened yet becuase I knew that the majority of the responsibilities were going to fall on me. Wah....wah...
I need to learn that when I feel like this, to just relax and stay put. When will I learn?
Anyway...because this past 4th of July was mid week and Max had to work on Friday, we decided to stay at home and have a chill weekend.
Our plan was to relax at home, go to the park with our friends, spend time with the kids....
.
The morning of the 4th was chaotic and out of sync.
Chance was hell bent on going to the park because he had been told that was what we were doing the night before, and he remembered. Unfortunately, Max's one hour mountain bike ride turned into a six hour bike ride and Chance had lost patience and was ready to head out before Max had returned.
.
I had started to lay things out on the dining room table to prepare for our day at the park. Chance loves helping me get ready and he immediately wanted to load the wagon and head out.

I had a quiet and fun morning just being with Chance and Savannah. They looked so cute and patriotic in their independance outfits that Grandma Carol had sent them.
I called Max to figure out his ETA after lunch and learned that he would still be a while. We were already an hour late for our park time with our friends so I decided to try and head over on my own.
.
This boy cracks me up. He was a man on a mission trying to get to that park.
Unfortuantely, his mission only lasted for about two blocks before he wanted me to pull him in the wagon.
Have you ever tried to push a stroller and pull a wagon? I dont' recommend it. It sucks and people look at you like you are crazy. Which I must be. I'm buying a Double BOB stroller with my very next paycheck. I swear it!
We made it to the park within ten minutes and I quickly learned that the park was PACKED! I have never seen the park this busy before, and Wash Park is always busy!
It was so busy that I didn't even find the right group at first.
I was given the instructions to go to the intersection of Tennessee and Franklin, look for a Broncos tent, a grill, and a blue volleyball net.
I found all of those things, aksed if I was with the "Cody group" and made some new friends before I realized that the group that I had joined had way too many children present that I had never seen before. I asked for a last name for "Cody" and learned that I was in fact with the wrong crew.
Luckily, Katie York found me and took me to the park spot with some more familiar faces.
I stayed pretty close to the umbrella all day because I wanted to protect my lil' miss from the sun.
Chance and Savannah were a blast to play with and I'm really glad that I was able to give them both so much attention.
We spent the evening at home because the only fireworks for the city were downtown and I knew it would be too crowded to travel there with both kids. Hopefully, next year we won't have such a fire ban and we will actually be able to play with some sparklers.
Max and I spent the rest of the weekend after the 4th completing errands around the house and playing with the kids. We are all set to start painting on the garage next weekend, which will complete all of the outside work on the garage.
I did love our time as a family at the park on Saturday. Chance loves it when we both play with him on the playground and Savannah is so alert now. You can tell she is soaking in all of her surroundings and it is fun to watch her.
Max even got Savannah in the swing. I was nervous that she was too little at first, but she did a great job of holding her head and her body up.
Sunday we spent more time doing prep work on the garage and playing with Chance and Savannah.
Savannah is starting to grab and play with toys. She was so perplexed when Chance grabbed the other end and started moving it from side to side for her. It was priceless.
