Last weekend we spent a lot of time at home enjoying our neighborhood and getting our house decorated for Christmas.
Max and Nick worked on making skis in the morning while Chance and I hit up the Pajama Baking Company for breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

After breakfast, I dug out the Christmas decoration boxes from the basement. Chance cuddled with Rudolph and watched Christmas cartoons while I put up the tree.
This was the first year that I remember putting a number of meaningful Christmas ornaments on our tree. I'm excited about all the memories that I know that we will collect over the years.
My favorites are the mickey mouse that Chance made for us at daycare and you would not believe how young Max and I look in the "Our first Christmas together" ornment. Yikes!
Everyone always asks, "what's with the white tree"...
Honestly, I love that we still use the tree that served as the gift table at our wedding almost nine years ago! I can't bring myself to buy a green tree to replace it.
We spent Saturday afternoon enjoying our unseasonably warm weather. Our neighborhood was host to Winter Fest which had some really cool vendors and bands in the streets.
After Winter Fest it was time to put on our K-State gear and head out to the Eakin's house to cheer on our Cats! We had a blast with our friends. Nothing beats a Saturday night football watch party. It was great to watch the Cats beat Texas and earn a fiesta bowl invitation.
Miles and Chance loved playing together.
On Sunday morning, I got a phone call from my friend Amy at work. She wanted to take her son Weston to see Santa and thought that Weston would be less afraid if he had a buddy with him. I knew as soon as she asked that Chance sitting on Santa's lap would be a long shot, but I decided to give it a try because Max was on a mountain bike ride and Chance did have the most perfect outfit (that Carol had bought him) to meet Santa.
The end result....Chance screamed like a mad man and I ended up paying $30 for this crazy photo with Chance and myself sitting on Santa's lap.
Ho Ho Ho
At least I managed to snag this adorable photo of Chance calming down from the Santa aftermath on the mall carousel. So we'll call the Santa visit a win.
