Long weekends are the best!
We started ours out with a much needed date night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
There really is nothing better than dating your husband. You don't have to talk and they know your order from the concession stand without having to scream/ask over the music.
Our date was outside. It was fun. There was good music, and it was great to be together.
Date night was a success.

Our little man could not wait to hug/tackle me the next day. This also makes going away for the night kind of special. It's good to be reminded that we miss each other when we are apart.
I worked a 1/2 day on Friday and then spent the afternoon with the kids at the park.
On Friday night, we headed downtown to Highland Tap for the first KSU watch party of the season.
Most of our crew was in Manhattan for the game....glad we didn't waste a car trip with the kids on that one!
We left at half time beceause I was starting to feel like the vibe of the place was more of a bar than a restaurant and I wanted to get the kids to bed.
I didn't even know we lost until the follwoing moring. Total Bummer...
We still love you K-State. Now please, try to win. Savannah's over it, but we are trying to teach her about loyalty :)
Saturday was l.a.z.y.
very very lazy and wonderful.
We all needed to be together, do nothing, and recharge.
We did start painting the kid's new toy room though. After pictures to come soon!
We also managed to make it to the playground and to Pearl St. for lunch.
We called it a day early and spent the evening watching movies in bed...which was glorious!
Our Sunday was busy!
We had promised Chance a "choo choo" ride to the football game. Cook had reserved us free tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown (University of Colorado v. Colorado State University) at Sports Authority Field in Denver.
We didn't want to turn down free tickets and we wanted to see what Chance would be like in an arena setting. It's always good to experiment with "free" tickets before spending $510 on broncos/chiefs tickets for a child that cannot stay in his seat...am I right?
The CU tailgate with Cook was also fun and not as much of a disaster with the kids as I had envisioned. It turns out that sometimes it is good to play worst case scenario, becasue when it doesn't happen you believe that the day was a success. HA!
Chance was hilarious at the football game and loved pointing out all of the dancers, buffalos, and players.
We had a blast!
We ended the night with Megan and Ben at Proto's Pizza.
Who wouldn't love a day with babies, trains, tailgates, football, friends and pizza?
On Monday, we needed another recharge day with nothing on the schedule.
I took the kids to the park so that Max could get the majority of his work done while we were out of the house.
We wrapped up the weekend with a grilled steak dinner and cuddles on the couch. We are truly, lucky, lucky, lucky!
