This past weekend was busy, fun, and relaxing all at the same time.
We started off on Friday night at a table tennis themed bar and restaurant called "Ace". I don't think I've played table tennis since high school, but it was still fun to pretend like we were serious ping pong contenders in the Olympics. This place might be our new go to hang out spot because the space is very open with good flow from the outside in. We had drinks at the patio bar, dined on asian fusion indoors, and then hit the ping pong tables. I will definitely be taking some of our out of town guests to this place in the future.

I checked in really early on Friday night because I wanted to get Chance and I had to finish 15 miles of my marathon training with Lauren at 6am on Saturday morning. I have a love hate relationship with marathons and the training process. Let's just say that last Saturday was closer to the hate side of things, but at least I finished my mileage in time to shower up and get ready for Max's annual work picnic.
Max and I were both excited about the Wallace picnic this year because if there is one thing that Denver is short on..it would be swimming pools. We knew that Max's company would rent one of the clubhouses out for lunch and then give us private use of the pool. Chance is still a litle bit afraid of the water so Max and I took turns with him in the pool and watched his excitement build with his comfort level of the water.
After the pool, we headed over to visit with Max's co-workers and their families in the park. The picnic was far more chill this year becasue five babies have been added to the Wallace company family in just one year.
Sunday morning was Max's turn for a long work out. Instead of marathon training, Max has opted to ride the Colorado mountain biking trail in sections with Nick. His mission for Sunday was a 27 mile stretch.
Becasue Chance and I had a very small agenda for the day, we decided to take our time getting ready in the morning. We played trucks all over the dining room floor and read our books for hours before making it out of the house.
We did manage to make it to the famer's market for some pasta sauce, muffins, fresh roasted peppers, and of course corn on the cob.
I attempted to take Chance to the water at the park so that he could feed the ducks, but Chance thought a nap would be more fun.
We napped and watched the Lorax all afternoon and waited for Max to get done with his ride. We decided to end the weekend with a trip to our neighborhood brick oven pizza restaurant.
I'm so glad that there was a break in the heat wave so that we could actually enjoy the outdoors and have a patio dinner with our friends.
